On Friday, Feb. 26, several high school students from PYLUSD received the “Most Improved Student” award from the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary. They honored:
El Camino Real High School: Angelica Gonzalez
Angelica’s award was presented by Mrs. Susan Rotkosky, Angelica’s math teacher. Mrs. Rotkosky represented several teachers at ECRHS who shared many positive comments about Angelica. She stated: “Angelica was always a remarkable student in my class. Very positive, happy and hard-working. She is a fun student who likes to be challenged while she is learning.” Angelica will be the first member of her family to graduate from high school. Congratulations, Angelica!
Esperanza High School: John “Austin” Lacy
Austin was the most recent recipient of the “Most Improved Student” award for Esperanza. Not only has Austin improved his attitude and grades, he has developed a work ethic like no other. This drive and motivation are certain to get him to his post-secondary goal of attending a four-year university. We are so proud of our most improved Aztec!
Yorba Linda High School: Christian Hinojosa
Christian received a certificate, and his name was added to “Most Improved Student” plaque that is displayed in the Yorba Linda Library. The award was given at the Rotary meeting at Black Gold Golf Club with his parents and other distinguished members of the community. Christian’s counselor, Peyton Pike, spoke to the audience about Christian’s achievements. Congratulations, Christian!
