The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) extends its sincere gratitude to the REACH Foundation for generously funding transportation for 476 elementary students to attend the annual district art show, Artworks!, held at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum this past month.
During their visit, transitional kindergarten through sixth-grade students engaged in a dynamic educational experience led by the Nixon Library’s Museum Education Specialist, Ara Carbonneau. In addition to viewing the district’s student art exhibition, attendees explored significant moments in American history, including the Apollo 11 moon landing and the passage of the Endangered Species Act. Students also participated in a docent-led tour of the museum and completed a hands-on, historically themed art project.
Looking ahead, the 2026 Artworks! Poster Contest will adopt the theme “America 250,” commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The district sincerely thanks Gisele Nguyen and all REACH Foundation volunteers for their continued dedication to enriching arts education and supporting meaningful learning opportunities for students across PYLUSD.
