Esperanza High School sophomore Dillian Kim was recently recognized for his exemplary participation in the S.T.E.A.M. Reading Challenge, an initiative organized in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education. The countywide program encourages students to deepen their understanding of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through purposeful, theme-based reading experiences.
During this fall’s challenge, participating students were invited to log their reading, engage with S.T.E.A.M.-inspired literature, and cultivate curiosity across interdisciplinary fields. Dillian demonstrated exceptional commitment to the program, culminating in the development of an astronomy-focused project that reflected both academic engagement and creative inquiry.
In recognition of his achievement, Dillian received a Club for the Future award bundle at the county recognition event. His accomplishment highlights the value of integrative learning experiences that promote literacy, critical thinking, and exploration of future-focused disciplines. Esperanza High School commends Dillian Kim for his dedication and academic excellence.
