Levi Ramirez, an eighth grader at Parkview School has been competing in gymnastics for five years, beginning at nine years old. He began his athletic career in taekwondo at the age of five, and four years later, switched to gymnastics. Since then he has been dedicating over two hours a day at the gym perfecting his flips and techniques. He enjoys the sport, as well as the discipline that goes with it. Currently, he is competing in level five men’s gymnastics ages 12+, and his favorite event is the rings.
Levi qualified for the state championship competition in Simi Valley this year. Much to his delight, he won first place in the rings and pommel horse, second place in the parallel bars, and fourth place in the vault. Best of all, he won the title, “Best All-Around State Gymnast Champion”. He also won the state gymnastic handstand champion award for holding his handstand for the longest period of time in his division. He will be moving forward to compete on Saturday, April 9, in Santa Clara, representing California against Nevada, Hawaii and Arizona.
Levi is very grateful for the opportunity to represent California in this event, and looks forward to continuing his gymnastic career well into the future. Olympics anyone?
Along with his athletic prowess, Levi is an outstanding student at Parkview, and takes his academics very seriously.
Parkview is very proud of Levi!
