On Saturday, May 14, 12 fifth and sixth grade students from Brookhaven Elementary School competed in the Orange County Department of Education’s second annual Science Olympiad for elementary school students. The competition included 10 events that required teamwork, group planning and cooperation. Some of the events these students competed in included “Barge Building,” “Rubber Band Catapult,” “Mystery Architecture” and “Grab A Gram.” The Brookhaven students competed against 16 other teams, and they earned a silver medal for their efforts. Way to go Brookhaven Einsteins!
