Students from George Key School and the new Venture Academy honored the 15th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, with a special ceremony on Friday, Sept. 9. Everyone made thank you cards for the Placentia Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority station in Placentia. The students helped lower the flag to half-staff, and all pledged their allegiance to our great country! They read the history of Patriot Day using News-2-You, which are current event articles with supporting pictures for our students. The handprint flag was a way to get the students involved in a way they could easily participate.
