This past week, Brookhaven Elementary School had a long-time grandparent volunteer, Mr. Lussier, present its custodian, Jose Sanchez, with a gift card and a word of thanks for his support and dedication. Mr. Lussier wanted to recognize Jose for going above and beyond by retrieving a playground ball from the roof of a Preppy K classroom, ensuring that students could continue to enjoy recess. Mr. Lussier recognized both Jose and Brookhaven’s office staff for being so friendly, timely and dedicated when he voiced a need for students. He presented Jose with a gift card from Subway, and thanked him for his dedication and service to students and staff. Jose was visibly moved by the recognition. Brookhaven couldn’t agree more, Mr. Lussier! Jose is an extremely valuable asset to the school community.
