Earlier this year, Glenview Elementary School first grade teacher Elizabeth Solyom reached out to the California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), Child and Adolescent Studies Student Association (CASSA) to ask about their annual Box Tops for Education drive.
Box Tops for Education is one of the ways that PTA raises money at Glenview. Box Tops for Education can be found on many everyday items. When someone cuts out box tops and turns them in, the school can then redeem them for money. The Glenview PTA has an ongoing box top drive throughout the year.
Additionally, CASSA members collect box tops throughout the year, and then select a school to donate them to. Ms. Solyom, a CSUF alumna and past CASSA board member, suggested that Glenview receive the box tops this year. CASSA was so excited to donate the box tops to Glenview, that they personally delivered the box tops, and then talked to students about CSUF and college! A little over 500 box tops were donated.
It was an exciting moment, and a memorable experience for all. Ms. Solyom’s class is looking forward to working with CASSA again!
