In a bid to foster community engagement and support for its most vulnerable students, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) recently hosted its inaugural open house at the Family Resource Center. This event aimed to acquaint district employees with the center’s offerings and services available to the community.
Jon Matson, the PYLUSD McKinney Vento Liaison, expressed his elation at the turnout, stating, “I was so excited to see all of the district personnel, teachers, classified employees, and others show up for our first annual family resource center open house.” Matson emphasized the success of the event, highlighting the opportunity it provided to showcase the center’s support initiatives for students. He further underscored the district’s unwavering commitment to its most vulnerable population.
The event served as a platform for district employees to gain insight into the pivotal role played by the Family Resource Center in addressing the needs of students facing housing instability. Attendees were provided with comprehensive information about the array of services and resources available, affirming the center’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
For those eager to contribute to the welfare of the district’s McKinney Vento student population, Jon Matson and Karina Luna, based at the Family Resource Center located at Topaz Elementary School, stand ready to provide guidance and assistance.
