JOYA Scholars is a nonprofit based in the Garnet Neighborhood of Fullerton. They are an education advocacy group that supports students through one-on-one mentoring, academic tutoring and SAT prep, among other outreach efforts. JOYA has established connections with teachers and counselors from El Dorado High School, Valencia High School and Tuffree Middle School.
The organization was recently featured in the Fullerton News-Tribune, a subsidiary of the Orange County Register. The profile examined the efforts of JOYA to prepare junior high and high school students for college success.
