Kraemer Middle School Principal Keith Carmona presented Kraemer Librarian Vicky Kamen with the PYLUSD challenge coin at a staff meeting on Monday, Nov. 9.
Vicky truly embodies the district’s core value of excellence. Walking into her library, you get a palpable sense of warmth and support. The Kraemer library is a place where students flock, and that’s not because it is a beautiful new building. Vicky creates a love for reading, and a positive space for students to meet, study and interact with one another.
Several district staff members have commented that the Kraemer library feels like a Barnes and Noble bookstore — a comfortable place where people enjoy spending their reading and study time.
Additionally, Vicky is probably the best-read person in the teen-fiction genre. She keeps up with all the latest popular literature, and makes individual connections with many students about the books in her library.
Her smile is radiant, and her kindness transcends the Kraemer campus. The school is truly blessed to have Vicky Kamen as a part of its team!
